FAQ's

Thailand observes several public holidays, including New Year’s Day (January 1), Songkran Festival (April 13 – 15), and the King’s Birthday (July 28). There are also various Buddhist and cultural holidays celebrated nationwide.

Salary and compensation are governed by the Labour Protection Act, which sets minimum wage rates, overtime rules, and statutory benefits. Employers must ensure timely and accurate wage payments in compliance with local regulations.

Employees are entitled to the following leave types:

  • Annual Leave: At least 6 working days per year after one year of service
  • Sick Leave: Unlimited days with pay; a medical certificate is required if absent for 3 consecutive days or more
  • Maternity Leave: 98 days, with 45 days paid by the employer
  • Personal Leave: At least 3 days per year, per statutory guidelines

Termination can be due to redundancy, misconduct, or mutual agreement. Employers are generally required to give advance notice or payment in lieu, and severance pay is mandated based on length of service, except in cases of serious misconduct.

Mandatory insurance includes:

  • Social Security Fund (SSF): Covers sickness, disability, death, maternity, unemployment, and pensions
  • Workmen’s Compensation Fund (WCF): Provides compensation for work-related injuries or illnesses
