Our client, a leading global IT services provider, is looking for experienced Data Scientists to join their team.
This is a hybrid role – you can work remotely in the UK and attend the Manchester office 2 days per week.
This is a 12 month temporary contract to start asap
Day rate: Competitive Market rate
The Role:
Data Scientist will work with multi-disciplinary teams to explore problem statements, experiment with different approaches and develop industrialised applications. The responsibilities include leading the development of advanced Machine Learning models and AI applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, process, and analyse large datasets from various sources.
- Develop experimental models and machine learning applications in Python.
- Perform complex statistical analysis and interpret results.
- Lead small teams in the development and maintenance of data science products.
- Collaborate with business partners to communicate key findings.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in data science.
- Mentor junior data scientists and provide technical guidance.
Key Requirements:
- 6+ years relevant experience
- Experience with problem framing, AI/ML metrics,
- Evaluation and development of classical ML + LLM
- Prompt/RAG basics;
- Experiment design; model cards.
Desirable:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to details.
- Clear communication and confidence in working with clients and other stakeholders.
- Collaborative team member who supports peers, shares knowledge and contributes to continuous improvement.
- Able to work independently, negotiate priorities and lead activities where required
- Good communication and leadership abilities.
