Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires DevOps Architect / Senior DevOps Platform Engineer to be based at their client’s office in Nottingham, UK.

This is a hybrid role – you can work remotely in the UK and attend the Nottingham office 3 days per week .

This is a 6+ month temporary contract to start asap

Day rate: Competitive Market rate

As a DevOps Architect/Senior Platform Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in transforming DevOps practices. You’ll work on high-impact projects in a dynamic industry, leveraging modern cloud-native technologies and automation tools. This role offers access to cutting-edge platforms like Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, and ISTIO, enabling you to design and implement robust CI/CD pipelines and containerized solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural improvements and define scalable DevOps solutions
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and Helm
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Ansible
  • Drive containerization strategies using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Integrate service mesh technologies like ISTIO for secure and reliable microservices communication
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile environments to deliver high-quality software
  • Conduct code reviews and enhance testing practices to ensure software reliability
  • Provide support and incident response for developed automation solutions
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote DevOps best practices
  • Maintain and enhance knowledge bases and documentation for operational excellence
  • Delivery as per project schedule

Key Requirements

Essential Skills:

  • DevOps CI/CD pipeline design and implementation
  • Kubernetes (Azure Kubernetes Service)
  • Azure DevOps (ADO) – pipelines, container registry integration
  • Helm, Docker, Istio
  • SonarQube, Elastic Stack (ELK)
  • Application monitoring and logging
  • Automation tools – Ansible, Puppet
  • Experience with ALM tools – Jira, Confluence, Git, Bitbucket
  • Strong understanding of design patterns and Java 1.8
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Desirable Skills:

  • Unix/Linux system administration
  • Experience with Redshift, Nexus, Artifactory
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies and sprint planning
  • Familiarity with cloud-native security and compliance practices
