Senior Business Analyst (SC Eligible)
Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires experienced Senior Business Analyst to be based at their client’s office in Wokingham.
This is a hybrid role – you can work remotely in the UK and attend the Wokingham office 3 days per week.
This is a 6+ month temporary contract to start asap
Day rate: Competitive Market rate
The Senior Business Analyst plays a critical role in delivering high-quality business and technology solutions within the utilities domain. This role involves working closely with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and translate business requirements into actionable insights and functional specifications. The ideal candidate will possess strong domain expertise in utilities (energy, gas, water) and experience working in secure environments requiring SC (Security Clearance).
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements Management
- Lead the elicitation, documentation, and validation of business and functional requirements
- Translate business needs into detailed user stories, process flows, and functional specifications
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and requirement review sessions
- Ensure traceability of requirements from inception through delivery
Utilities Domain Expertise
- Apply strong knowledge of utilities processes such as billing, metering, asset management, and customer operations
- Support transformation initiatives (e.g., smart metering, regulatory compliance, digital transformation)
- Bridge the gap between business teams and technical delivery teams within utility environments
Stakeholder & Delivery Support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, development, testing, and operations
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams
- Support Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
- Ensure delivered solutions align with business objectives and regulatory requirements
Data Analysis & Process Improvement
- Analyse business and operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Define KPIs, metrics, and reporting requirements
- Drive process optimization and efficiency improvements
Compliance & Security
- Work in secure environments adhering to SC clearance requirements
- Ensure compliance with data protection, regulatory, and security standards
- Support audits, governance reviews, and documentation requirements
Key Requirements
- Strong experience as a Business Analyst in the utilities sector
- Proven expertise in requirements gathering, process mapping, and documentation
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
- Understanding of utilities systems (e.g., billing platforms, CRM, MDM)
- Experience in data analysis (Excel, SQL, or BI tools)
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work in cross‑functional and cross‑site teams
- Clear technical communication and documentation skills
- Candidates must be eligible for SC clearance
