Manual Test Engineer – EUC & Network Security

Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires experienced Manual Test Engineers to be based in their client’s office in Warwick.

This is a fully onsite role.

This is a 6+ month temporary contract to start asap

Day rate: Competitive Market rate

The Manual Test Engineer will be responsible for validating end user applications, network components, and security layers including EUC environments, Zscaler configurations, and enterprise network connectivity. The role involves performing functional, non-functional, regression, and integration testing across digital workplace and network/security infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, hands-on testing experience, and a solid understanding of enterprise IT ecosystems. Candidates must be eligible for UK Security Check (SC) clearance; active SC is desirable but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

EUC (End User Computing) Testing:

  • Perform manual testing of EUC components such as laptops/desktops, VDI, thin clients, Citrix environments, and mobile devices
  • Validate application packaging, distribution, compatibility, and performance in EUC environments.
  • Test Windows OS upgrades/patches, M365 applications, collaboration tools, and standard enterprise software.
  • Conduct UAT for business-critical EUC applications and ensure seamless end user experience.
  • Document test cases, results, and defects in appropriate test management tools.

Zscaler Testing (Security & Network Access):

  • Execute testing related to Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA).
  • Validate secure web gateway policies, access rules, URL filtering, SSL inspection behavior, and tenant-specific configurations.
  • Perform authentication and SSO testing (Azure AD, SAML, certificates, etc.).
  • Validate Zscaler client connector behavior across different networks (office, home, VPN, mobile hotspot).
  • Collaborate with network/security teams to analyze logs, troubleshoot failures, and ensure policy compliance.

Network Testing:

  • Conduct manual testing of network changes, routing rules, firewall policies, DNS/DHCP behavior, and connectivity validations.
  • Perform end-to-end connectivity checks for business applications across LAN/WAN, VPN, SD WAN, and cloud networks.
  • Validate network resiliency, failover scenarios, and performance impact post change.
  • Work with network operations teams to verify packet flow, latency, throughput, and error rates based on test scenarios.
  • Document network issues with detailed steps, logs, and impact analysis.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong manual testing experience (3-7 years preferred).
  • Hands-on experience in EUC testing, including Windows/Mac OS, VDI, Citrix, M365.
  • Practical understanding of Zscaler components-ZIA, ZPA, Client Connector, policy evaluation.
  • Working knowledge of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing).
  • Experience with test management tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, ALM, etc.).
  • Ability to analyse logs (Zscaler logs, network logs, Event Viewer, browser dev tools).
  • Understanding of Change & Incident Management (ITIL preferred).
  • Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (network, security, EUC, application teams).
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Candidates must be eligible for UK Security Check (SC) clearance; active SC is desirable but not mandatory.
