Java Spring Boot Developer
Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires Java Spring Boot Developer (Azure & Event-Driven Architecture) to be based at their client’s office in Luton, UK.
This is a hybrid role – you can work remotely in the UK and attend the Luton office 3 days per week .
This is a 6+ month temporary contract to start asap

Our client is looking for a Java Spring Boot Developer with strong expertise in Azure and event-driven architecture. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, Azure services, Docker, Kubernetes, and database technologies such as Cosmos DB and PostgreSQL.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain microservices using Spring Boot and Java.
- Implement event-driven architecture using messaging platforms (e.g., Azure Event Hub, Kafka, or RabbitMQ).
- Design and integrate RESTful APIs and asynchronous communication patterns.
- Deploy and manage applications on Microsoft Azure (AKS).
- Ensure application security, performance, and scalability.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams for CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
- Extensive experience with microservices architecture.
- Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or similar languages used for automation and AI.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services, including:
- Event Hub
- Service Bus
- Azure Storage
- AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service)
- Knowledge of event-driven architecture, messaging queues, and pub/sub patterns.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps and Jenkins.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of cloud-native design principles.
- Experience with Cosmos DB and PostgreSQL.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
