SC Cleared Network Project Manager
Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires an experienced Network Project Manager with valid UK SC Clearance to be based at their client’s office in Wokingham, UK.
This is a hybrid role – you can work remotely in the UK and attend the Wokingham office 3 days per week.
This is a 6+ month temporary contract to start asap
Day rate: Competitive Market rate
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and manage network delivery projects from initiation to completion.
- Should have good knowledge of network migrations, challenges in migration and taking ownership of network project management & delivery.
- Ensure timely delivery of network solutions within agreed SLAs and KPIs.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal teams and external vendors.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders effectively.
- Oversee deployment, configuration, and optimization of network hardware and software.
- Ensure network designs meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and organizational security policies.
Key Requirements
Essential:
- Proven experience in network migration projects (data center, WAN/LAN, SD-WAN, cloud).
- Strong understanding of networking technologies and protocols (TCP/IP, MPLS, VPN, BGP, OSPF).
- Experience with migration tools and methodologies.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience in network delivery or network project management.
- Strong understanding of networking technologies (LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, firewalls, etc.).
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and project management methodologies (Agile, PMP).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and vendor relationships
- Active valid UK SC Clearance
Desirable:
- Excellent stakeholder management at all levels
- Ability to challenge senior stakeholders and say ‘no’ politely
- Leadership qualities: ability to mentor junior personnel and provide guidance on work packages
- Ability to work with little or no guidance
- Attention to detail in all aspects of the analysis and ability to draw conclusion quickly in a limited timeframe
- Ability to balance multiple tasks without a negative impact on quality
- Experience of working effectively both individually and as part of highly productive teams in an Infrastructure/Application ITIL based support environment
- Appreciation of business-critical real-time systems
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Candidate must be able to pass background vetting process
