Solution Architect
Our client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires an experienced Solution Architect to be based in their client’s office in Luton, UK.
This is a hybrid role – you can work remotely in the UK and attend the Luton office 2 – 3 days per week .
This is a 6+ month temporary contract, to start asap.
Day rate: Competitive Market rate.
The client is looking for a Solution Architect to lead the definition of solution architecture for complex, end-to-end solutions by collaborating with functional consultants, technical architects for each solution component, and Enterprise Architects to ensure alignment with long-term architectural direction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage activities that take place during solution ideation, solution design, and solution implementation
- Review business context for solutions to company challenges as well as design to realise the vision and requirements for the solution, recommend potential options, (which may include RFIs, RFPs or prototype development), select the most optimal option, and the development of a roadmap for the selected solution
- Communicate the architecture to the stakeholders and collaborate and coordinate with existing domain architects in the formalisation and adoption of IT standards and procedures
- Champion a structured approach to business application solutions
- Directly assist in the development of a solutions architecture program including departmental roadmaps and project portfolios for IT systems architecture
- Assure solutions not only are a fit for the specific purpose but also closely align with the standards guidelines of technology solutions
- Influence changes to standards when necessary
- Assist domain architecture team on solutions management and timing of financial spend for application solutions
- Support the architectural aspects of all application projects in peer IT portfolios
- Direct the identification and recommendation of appropriate solutions, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning options incorporating business and technology productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership
- Provide analysis of security protection technologies as necessary
Key Requirements:
- Airline/ travel/ transport business background
- Strong understanding of modern architecture (e.g. cloud native – AWS preferred, microservices, APIs, events, domain driven design)
- Ability to champion architecture best practice
- Design certification – CFA / FRM / TOGAF
- Solid understanding of architecture best practice
- Strong command in transforming business requirements into IT solutions
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
